CSM (RA)
is a European regulation (402/2013) that defines uniform requirements for the assessment and
management of risks in the rail sector.
The method provides systematic processes and tools to:
1.identify risks associated with changes (e.g. new technologies, processes, infrastructure) to
,
2. assess the identified risks,
3. implement risk mitigation measures.

Learning objectives
The participants:



can explain the principles of the Common Safety Method on Risk Evaluation and Assessment (CSM-RA).
are able to explain the objectives and significance of the CSM-RA in the safety assessment.
know the central terms of the risk management process according to CSM-RA.
can describe the CSM-RA process flow and divide it into individual steps.
understand the interactions between the process steps.
can apply the criteria and procedures for significance testing according to CSM-RA.
are able to evaluate examples of significant and non-significant changes.
understand the role of significance testing in the overall risk management process.
can explain the principles and requirements for developing their own security method.
